Coriander comes from the coriander plant which provides both the seeds (coriander spice) and fresh coriander leaves. Coriander seed is a small aromatic herb that is not only used in Indian cuisines but also all over the world. The seeds can be used as such in dishes by dry roasting them or in pickles and chutneys. They can be also used in powdered form but because they lose their properties very quickly after being ground, it’s better to roast them and freshly grind them.
